A personal note-
More and more, I'm finding that new OCW members don't understand the responsibilities of OCW, how OCW works, etc. and end up stepping on toes. To this end, I've created what I hope is the definitive rulebook for OCW. I hope this helps everyone out and answers some questions, and if anyone has a question, comment, or suggestion, drop me a line.

I. An Introduction to OCW
OCW (Original CAW [Create-a-Wrestler] Wrestling; in-game, Original Championship Wrestling) is an efed that simulates matches between wrestlers using MDickie's Wrestling MPire 2008 Management Edition on the PC (which can be obtained, completely free of charge, here on the boards OR at http://www.mdickie.com), including the TWC4 conversion mod from mpiremall.net and modded with OCW content by SupaChupa, under complete computer control, under legend difficulty, with matches set to average length. Only original wrestlers can be used.
OCW has a group of moderators who take care of the day-to-day operations and troubleshooting of the fed. This group (The Owners Committee) is responsible for booking shows, simming events, posting results and rankings, updating the OCW website(s) (when there are any), and processing applicants. Do NOT ask to join the Committee; members are chosen by the Committee when needed, and your character and the way you present yourself on the boards will be your application when needed.
OCW currently runs about 1-2 events a week (alternating between Adrenalin and Overdrive) with an additional monthly Pay-Per-View show for a total of around 5-9 shows a month.
II. Joining OCW / Applicant Responsibilities
1. Anyone 16 and over can join OCW. Applicants must register for a screen name on the OCW Forums (http://ocwfed.proboards.com). Only one screen name is allowed per member. This screen name does NOT have to be the same as the applicant's wrestler's name. (Displayed screennames can be changed in your profile.)
2. Applicants must then post their wrestler formula in the New Blood forum. This formula must include all info listed in the wrestler formula template, as well as any assets that are to be used to create the wrestler visually, i.e. patterns, textures, photos, etc.
Please enter a wrestler that means something to you and that you know you'll want to play for a long time. Thank you.
3. New members are limited to 1 wrestler. A second wrestler may be added after you've proven yourself, and is at the discretion of the Owners Committee. There are currently no real limits as to how many wrestlers can be owned, which is again at the discretion of the Committee, providing that you've proven that you can handle the promo workload; however, it would be rare to see anyone with 5 or more.
4. For each wrestler submitted the first time a prospective member applies, a sample promo must also be submitted. This can be posted separately in the New Blood forum. This only applies the first time a new member joins; subsequent wrestlers for the same owner do not require a sample promo.
5. Each wrestler must adhere to the following OCW wrestler guidelines:
Wrestlers must be original, relatively unknown indy wrestlers, fictional characters of the player's creation, or occasionally, celebrities.
Make certain that your wrestler is proportionate. If your wrestler is (for example) a 7-foot-tall, musclebound character, and you try to put him in as a cruiserweight, he/she/it will NOT be accepted until it is reworked and resubmitted.
6. Wrestlers and promos will then be reviewed and discussed by the Committee's hiring crew. You will be notified if your membership is accepted. Your sample promo will play a LARGE role in this, so please observe at least somewhat decent punctuation and avoid confusing abbreviations when possible.
For full wrestler guidelines, see the CAW Handbook thread.
III. Membership Responsibilities
1. As a member, you are responsible for posting at least 1 promo per week for each of your wrestlers. Promos can be combined if more than one of your characters is in the promo, but continually providing short promos lacking in content for more than 1 wrestler can be grounds for a warning.
2. It is highly encouraged and recommended that each promo title mentions the main character of the promo and, if possible, any other characters that are mentioned. This makes it much easier for owners to answer challenges to their wrestlers or to continue a promo if needed without having to read every single promo on the boards.
3. If circumstances arise and you cannot promo for a week or, worse yet, must leave OCW for whatever reason, PLEASE post a notice of this in the General Discussion area.
Wrestlers that are not promoed for over the course of a week will earn the owner a warning, as well as a fine for their wrestler's bank balance.
Wrestlers without promos for 2 weeks will be warned and will miss a show. 3 weeks of non-promoing without notice can and usually will result in firing.
However, if notice is given, a wrestler can wrestle on in his owner's absence (if it's a short period of time) or can be actively suspended, in which case the wrestler's rankings info is saved and restored on the owner's return.
Also, if one wishes, they can turn over control of their wrestlers to another owner. This requires approval on the part of each owner and the Committee and must be posted in the discussion section.
4. If you want a specific match for one (or more) of your wrestlers, post the request in the Match Requests forum. While it's fine to request a match in a promo, if the booker misses the promo or forgets about it, you could miss an opportunity that you otherwise wouldn't have. Match requests don't necessarily ensure that you will get your match, but it at least lets the booker know what your wrestler's plans are and usually you'll be given a reason why the match can't/won't happen. When requesting a match, PLEASE post a link to the promo in which it's mentioned, if applicable.
5. Members are allowed one edit per wrestler per month. An edit is defined as a revision of a wrestler's formula or moveset. For moveset changes, please only send in the moves that are being changed, if feasible. No weight changes. Stat changes are limited to 10 points per month.
The only exception to this is when a wrestler purchases a stat point. These may be applied as soon as they're purchased.
6. New wrestlers and wrestlers that you are retiring are also limited to 1 per month. This is as much to prevent people from making new characters each month and dropping wrestlers that are in a slump as it is to keep the staff from being overworked. Excessive use of retiring your wrestlers, introducing new wrestlers or editing your wrestlers can be grounds for disciplinary action or a good solid firing.
7. NO PROMOS INVOLVING FICTIONAL TITLE BELTS, EITHER DEFENDABLE OR STORYLINE ONLY, ARE TO BE POSTED WITHOUT THE PRIOR CONSENT OF THE OWNERS COMMITTEE. No exceptions. It leads to bad things and if you do it, you WILL be reprimanded and possibly terminated without further notice. JUST DON'T DO IT. If you feel strongly about it, bring it up to the Committee. We'll discuss it and get back to you.
IV. General Etiquette Guidelines
1. Anything goes in the The Stage forum, though the words "f*g" and "f*gg*t" have been banned. Do not take offense to anything posted there; in the promo area, everyone talks trash. It's not personal unless it's proceeded by an OOC (out-of-character) notation.
2. In all other forums, please treat your fellow players with the same respect you'd like to receive. That said, don't be surprised if abrasive or purely ignorant posts get you flamed.
3. Feel free to advertise your website on the OCW Forums, unless they are that of another efed. If you wish to advertise another efed, contact SupaChupa. Advertising an efed can be grounds for disciplinary action. Active recruiting is strictly prohibited. (For example, do NOT post "Please come join my fed" or private message members asking them to join. If you must advertise, advertise in a professional, detail-oriented manner.) Competition in OCW belongs between the members of the fed, not between OCW and another fed trying to compete for your time.
Moreover, presented as an affiliate, OCW promotes other efeds; we recognize that, while OCW is fun for some, it will not be everyone's cup of tea, and if affiliates are available, OCW would heartily endorse and would be willing to send a recommendation for any OCW owner to any other fed owner by request.
Any other website that represents an organization can also become an affiliate; again, contact SupaChupa so he can present it to the Committee for consideration.
4. Don't harass anyone, whether over private messages, on the forums, email, etc. This includes spamming anyone in any way. Presented with evidence and a complaint, this can be grounds for dismissal and a good solid banning.
5. When posting promos, it is fine to use someone else's characters with or without permission, as long as the other owner hasn't told you specifically not to do so. However, they must be presented and act in character, and if the owner disapproves of the posted promo, it must be changed or deleted. Don't be afraid to ask, or to forward a rough draft to someone; OCW players are generally very easy-going. Overall, if you write a bunch of promos where your wrestler just keeps kicking everyone else's asses, you can and most likely will be disciplined, flamed, etc.
6. Please use something approximating English when writing your promos. The better your promos are written, the more fun OCW will be for everyone. While we aren't looking for English class perfection, if your promos are constantly unreadable, you can be disciplined or fired. Yes, it's actually happened, twice to the same person in fact (Twister2k1).
7. OCW-bashing anywhere other than the Roleplaying forum is subject to disciplinary action. If you have a problem with OCW, either present it in a civil manner so we can work it out, or leave and keep it to yourself. This includes posting on other websites & boards; if it's discovered and proven to the satisfaction of the Committee that you've done this, you will be fired and as permanently banned as possible.
8. Please try to remember, OCW is a hobby for everyone here. Have fun, enjoy the community, and feel free to use the private messaging system to contact other owners, to form alliances or discuss possible feuds or whatever else have you. AOL Instant Messenger is also a great, free way to get in touch with other users; you can download it at www.aim.com. A feud is only as good as the weakest participant makes it. That said, welcome to OCW!
9. Not as much as rule as a guideline; feuding between your multiple wrestlers is allowed, but it gets old really quick, especially for other members of OCW. Please try to feud primarily with characters that aren't under your control. It's a lot more satisfying and increases the quality of the fed overall. If you're just here to tell your story and not to participate, please, go elsewhere.
V. How OCW Works
1. Title Eligibility.
To become eligible for a title shot, you must fulfill the requirements for that belt. They are as follows:
OCW World Title: Must be ranked in the top 20% of the rankings, and (when possible) have at least 10 wins. (I don't think it's possible to have less, to be honest.)
OCW US Title: Must be ranked in the top 40% of the rankings, and (when possible) have at least 5 wins.
OCW Hardcore/X-Violence Title: Open to any hardcore wrestler. To be considered a hardcore wrestler, you need do nothing more than be willing to wrestle hardcore matches at any time. A lot of the roster don't care for the hardcore matches, but there is a hardcore following in OCW...
OCW Tag Team Championship: Tag Team must have 5 wins when applicable.
OCW Cruiserweight Title: Any female/cruiserweight/light heavyweight wrestlers are eligible.
2. How Rankings Work.
Check out the Rankings Handbook for this information.
3. Backstage attacks & run-ins.
Yes, you can attack characters backstage in OCW. Check the Backstage Attacks & Run-Ins thread for more info.
4. The OCW Chatroom and Live Results.
The in-forum OCW Chatroom is occasionally (that is, rarely) used to present live results and let everyone gather and chat while the event is going on. Times and dates of this are posted when they happen in the OCW Discussion area.
VI. OCW Perks
1. All wrestlers get roster pictures, which are updated as needed. If the wrestler doesn't change in appearance, the roster pic for that wrestler will not change. However, sometimes there are delays in processing roster pics. DO NOT ASK FOR OR ABOUT ROSTER PICS. They'll appear when they appear. (Additionally, since switching to Wrestling MPire 2008 as an engine, don't expect art, heh.)
2. All champions are entered into the Archive of Champions, which lets you at the click of a mouse view who the current champions are, who all of the champions have been, who the greatest champions have been, how many defenses each champion had and retired titles. The Archive is located in the Bulletin Board section.
3. All wrestlers receive a bio page on the OCW website... when there is one. Owners are responsible for submitting content for the pages (with the exception of technical data and pictures). Again, sometimes it takes time to process bio pages (especially if the wrestler in question doesn't have a roster pic yet). DO NOT ASK. They'll happen, just give us a little time on it. Presently, we are working without a webpage, so naturally this is a moot point.
THE OCW WEBSITE: CURRENTLY NONEXISTANT.
Do ***NOT*** use material from the OCW website without permission. You may link to pictures, pages or videos on the site, but do not present them as your own creations (please give credit where credit is due); similarly, OCW makes no claims about your intellectual property (characters) aside from the right to include them in OCW videos and pictures from the time period during which you're a member.
VII. The Committee
1. Members of the OCW Owners Committee change sometimes very erratically. For a complete roster, look up the Members list at the bottom of the main index and look for any red member names.
2. Wanna get in contact with an OCW Committee member? Check the Bulletin Board area for contact info, or just drop a PM to whomever you wish to contact. Thanks!
A personal note-
More and more, I'm finding that new OCW members don't understand the responsibilities of OCW, how OCW works, etc. and end up stepping on toes. To this end, I've created what I hope is the definitive rulebook for OCW. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT APPLY TO JOIN OCW.
If you apply to join, it is assumed that you have read and agree to the above disclaimer.

2. Wanna get in contact with an OCW Committee member? Check the Bulletin Board area for contact info, or just drop a PM to whomever you wish to contact. Thanks!
