I know a lot of us have kids, so what'd you peoples do (or get or whatever) for Father's Day? My daughter was out of town, visiting an uncle on her sperm donor's side for the weekend, which sort'a sucked a bit, but overall it was pretty cool. Got some sleep in, got to see Fantastic Four 2 (which is just awesome, lil cheese at the end, but still wicked as hell, best comic movie this year). My mom took the kids out to find something to get me, and this is cool as hell- I got the Optimus Prime figure from the movie (which looks a helluva lot cooler than it does here: www.hasbro.com/default.cfm?page=ps_results&product_id=19451 ), which is wicked cool, takes about a good 5 minutes to transform (shitty instrux suck too) and is poseable as ALL hell. I mean, each finger is articulated. WOW! And my wife got me a guitar starter kit from her and the kids ( www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-13/qid=1182163018/ref=sr_1_13/601-3041414-0057754?ie=UTF8&asin=B000BV1YOE ), because I've been wanting to try to learn since playing Guitar Hero. My short, stubby fingers are already making it rough, but I'm determine to be able to play something. Hell, anything. Well, anything but Mary Had a Little Lamb. Fuck Mary. So overall, pretty damn cool, pretty good lil day. Almost like a mini birthday, though it sucked to have to work it, lol. How'd you fellas make out?

I got woken up with the smell of French Toast (my favorite) and my lil 6-month old ninja holding a bag in one hand and a card in the other and man he did NOT want to let those go. They were fitting perfectly in his mouth, or so he thought, heh.
So he got me a "Coolest Dad" type t-shirt and some Oreos as well as the card -which he signed himself, lol- and wifey made me breakfast and got me a coin jar with a digital counter-slot on the top cause I am totally addicted to loose change.
Other than that the greatest part of the day was spending it with the family without me having to worry about going to work for a change. Weeeee *bleep*

Sounds like you guys had a cool day. Happy father's day
NIce score on that guitar learnin' chups. I want to learn how to play electric guitar too! And I'm totally amp'd for Rock Band. I'm gonna get the whole package, the drumset, mic, everything! I just saw the picture for the new guitar, and although they say the GH guitar will work with the game, the new one looks way cooler, and it has 5 extra fret buttons!
This article I read said that the drums are going to be pretty decent. There's 4 discs, and a foot pedal, and it said that if you're playing the game on hard or expert, you're pretty much playing the actual song, so you should be able to play it on a real drum set after that.

Weeeee *bleep* lol that's cool, that was my only real regret about the day- that I didn't get to spend it with both of my kids, and that I had to work, but y'know. I take what I can get when I can get it, I'm not greedy. Well, okay, yes I am. Dammit. LOL And I remember that age well, when everything that went in Ben's mouth was the best toy ever and you were evil incarnate if you tried to take it away. At least before he forgot about it. Heh. Sounds like you guys had a cool day. Happy father's day NIce score on that guitar learnin' chups. I want to learn how to play electric guitar too! And I'm totally amp'd for Rock Band. Yeah, it's rough so far, I have short stubby fingers and I'm just working the scales so far to try to get some accuracy and mobility before I start tackling chords. Plus my left hand isn't used to doing the work, so y'know. lol. One interview I read said that they're considering the possibility of a midi hookup for the drum kit, so I would just be able to play with the drum kit I have. But yeah, drums aren't hard to pick up to be honest, they just take work to get down any kind of real accuracy & creativity. It's amazing how little rhythm some people have. I remember back in the band, our vocalist (jackass) thought he was a mini Fred Durst (and probably still does), but during breaks sometimes he would get behind the kit and couldn't even pound out a solid rhythm, much less do anything that didn't make us want to kill him. Ah, those were the days. LOL The sad part is, I genuinely miss them, but hopefully, if I ever get off of my ass and get a job with a decent schedule, I can start hunting around for some like-minded freaks and we can get some music rollin'. There's absolutely nothing on the planet like playing music in front of people.

Amen to that. Once had the oppotrunity to play in front of 25,000 people and OMFG that was the best musical experience I've ever had. Course pretty much after that the band broke up cause the lead guitarist wanted to go get his master's degree and become a guitar professor and our bass player decided he wanted to rap instead of play real music, /shrug.

lol never did that well over here, we played in front of a little over 300 at a small club that a friend ran out of an old historical building/shopping center for a few months which was awesome, and then one time we played a frat party that had some mad amount of people, those were the two best gigs we had. Band broke up because we didn't really all have the same taste in music, and while it worked for us for a while, it tore us apart in the end. They wanted me out because I didn't know how to play anything other than drums and apparently just writing the drum bits and acting as band manager wasn't good enough for them, and I told 'em all to fuck off. Shortly thereafter the band fell apart, which I thought was pretty cool. lol But yeah, definitely gotta do that again someday. I miss playing music. Tried a couple of other band things, but it was mostly jam session junk that never went anywhere with a few stoners. 'Course, we did spend a helluva lotta time watching movies and playing video games instead of focusing on the music.
