May 10th, 2008. On the way back from Daytona Beach, two OCW powerhouses finally meet... in person! (*gasp*)
Now, granted, Tamara was driving, and I was navigating, and somehow I missed a line- well, the point is, we got there a little bit late. But we met VCJ, his wife and stepson at the comic book store where they worked for lunch and whatnot.
Naturally, they were just awesome. We shot the proverbial shit about comics, kids, relationships, pretty much everything squeezed into a couple of hours. And I dropped about $100 on stuff in the shop- I had to have a Marvel Select Moon Knight figure, Ultimates 2 Vol. 2 TPB, first two issues of Secret Invasion and a board game, Quelf, that just sounds like the most hilarious game ever according to them. We've played similar games, so naturally we had to have it. And Ben got a book as well.
They were just cool as hell. Ben ran around the shop and whatnot while we just chatted up everything, and it was a great exclamation point to an awesome vacation. It definitely makes me wanna head back down there as soon as possible- next time, video games must be PLAYED! Or something.
And now, the pics- I really should've thought to take a lil bit of video or something, but y'all know me- about as brainless as you get, lol.
