Okay, I'm addicted.
No More Heroes is just one of those games- it's odd, it's fucked up, it's funny in a weird way, but it's just great. It's probably as close to GTA as the Wii is gonna ever get, and that's okay.
The combat is just so fucking hyperkinetic, and you have so many options- boss fights are just the shit- I'm 3 hours in and just lovin' it. Only complaint I have is the vehicle controls are a little wonky, but everything else is just fun as hell.
Lightsaber? Check. Wrestling grapples? Check. Killing baddies? Yep. Boss fights that are long and complex? Hell yeah. Crawling up a rankings ladder to become the greatest assassin in the world? FORK YEAH. Playing a goofy-ass antihero that thinks he's the shit, but can't get laid? Oh yeah. And the guy's motel room- fuck, I wish you could free roam and look at stuff up close, it's the ultimate geek-ass otaku freakboy room.
It ain't the prettiest, but the controls just work like hell and it's a great game. If you have a Wii and haven't given it a shot, you definitely, definitely should.

Huh..... I played Killer 7, so this game should be good, since it's from the same people, and pretty much the same graphics pretty much.
I'll have to pick this game up when I pick up my Wii.

Yeah, it's just fun. I mean, the city you roam around in, there isn't really a lot to do other than visiting the very few locations, bashing open dumpsters for cash or t-shirts, or digging for treasure with your beam katana in the earthy bits, but the training is cool and the missions range from just plain fuckin' silly-ass as all hell to that wicked-ass Kill-Bill-with-a-lightsaber hyperkill bloodfest, and my GOD it's just fun! I can't say enough good things about it. And the graphics style is very reminiscent of Killer 7 (which I never got to play, but I loved the look of it in the screenshots), very sort of cel-shaded, but with detail instead of a more minimalist look. And dammit, the bosses are just fun to kill! You really have to work for it and figure out the best way to hammer them down.
It's just awesome. So far, it's the only game I've played for 3 hours straight. Much fun. Though admittedly, a multiplayer online component would've been nice, and I'd have preferred to be able to swing the sword with the controller instead of button-bash comboing, but the controls are so perfect when you work in the stun moves and grapples that it just doesn't matter.

Yeah, but you don't swing it, you only use the motion controls to control your stance (high attacks or low) and to do the wrestling grapples. The sword is controlled by bashing the a button. Still awesome though.

Well, now that you've got a Wii and can play Gamecube games, you can pick up Killer 7 for Gamecube if you ever feel the urge.
Though the idea of you actually being able to free roam instead of being on a track and moving with A, and turning around with B (Damn Killer 7 and that single flaw.....), it should be pretty great. Guess I've got three games I can plan on getting with my Wii.
