As most of you know, I've been losing weight. Well, as of this morning I have lost 82.5 pounds. Yeehaw! And that's in 7 months. On the flip side, I went to the doctor today and found out that I have a hernia. So, I get to have yet another operation. (Can you tell I am excited?) The good news is that I may be able to get a tummy-tuck out of the deal. So, that's a bonus. Anyhow, just thought I'd share. The doctor said that I need to have the surgery pretty soon because since it's causing me pain, it may be doing damage. He is going to try and get me into a surgeon tomorrow and hopefully the surgery will be sometime next week. I am not so much worried about me, but Tom kind of freaks out about this stuff. Plus, he will have to deal with my Mom and his Mom. Pray for the boy.

Go Tams!
*reads about hernia*
Ah damn.
*reads about tummy tuck*
Not sure what to say.
*reads about surgery*
Gee, that sucks. But I don't think the doc gave you options.
*reads about Chupa and praying*
Yeah, have fun with that. Hope it'll be as painless as possible.

Wow that's great that you're continuing to lose weight tams, but what's good news without some bad news to go along with it huh? That sucks about the hernia! You HAVE to get an operation for that? Can't they do anything else instead of cuttin ya up? There's always risks with surgery, so yeah I don't blame chups for being worried.
I really hope everything works out good - keep us posted tams!

Thanks for all of the well wishes. I go in to see the surgeon tomorrow. And yes, it has to be operated on, because since there is pain then something may be poking through. It can cause serious damage to whatever is poking through. (Which is most likely my intestines.) On the upside...I do believe that this time I am doing to finally have the zipper put in, so the next time they gotta poke around inside me they can just unzip me. LOL

At least a hernia is a pretty routine op, surgery sucks no matter what and it all has risks but hernias are a common problem. Hope everything goes well Tams, for Chupa too cos, if its not one thing.... it's your mother (or both of them in his case). And way to go with the weight loss, its amazing!!

*Sigh* I am just so tired of this stuff...so, I give up. They win. Now I have no idea who "they" are...but once I figure it out, I will concede to them that they have won. What am I talking about?!?! Well, you all know that I went to the doctor on Thursday with this pain and lump. He did a few physical tests and said yup...that's a hernia. So, he made an appointment for me to see a surgeon. I went to see the surgeon today. (BTW, I really liked her.) But she tells me that she doesn't think it's a hernia. She poked around and caused me a good deal of pain, did the same physical test that my GP did and said...that's not a hernia. As she is poking around she says "that's interesting." For those of you who don't know..."that's interesting" is NEVER a good thing from a doctor. So, what is it? No clue. She said that it might be a hernia, but it's not located where one normally has a hernia, nor does it bulge like a hernia, nor does it feel like a hernia. It still might be a hernia, but she gave me a list of other things that it might be. Tumor, (which she thinks is unlikely) scare tissue, fatty mass, and I forget the rest but she had a few more. What's next? Well, I am going in for a CT scan. (I don't have a date yet, but I will let you know when.) After she gets the results, she will schedule another appointment with me and we will discuss the results. She said that if the CT scan does not show a hernia, nor anything that she recognizes that she will have to do an exploratory surgery. Either way she said that it shouldn't be there and it needs to be taken care of. So, why a CT scan first, considering I will be sliced on regardless of what it is? She doesn't want to be surprised going in there if she doesn't have to be. She said that a CT scan will give her more of a road map of what is going on inside. Especially with all my past surgeries...which we all laughed about how two lines is more than enough people...but not for me. Why am I giving up? It can never be anything normal with me. I thought this would be the ONE thing that was normal. Everyone has heard of a hernia. But oh no...not for me. I gotta be different. Can't have anything normal. *sheesh* If you think about it, pray for my sanity. And thanks for all of the congrats on my weight loss. It's been an exciting process.

Kaveeks, you are a nut. Home from the surgery. It was pretty easy. I am not in much pain, and overall feel pretty good. They found a mass of Endometriosis that she removed. I have to follow-up with ym doctor to get treated for Endometriosis. But overall not bad. For those of you who don't know what Endometriosis is, let's just say it has to do with my girl parts.
