Credit to the mpiremall.net crew for the links and translation: it.thq.com/it/game/detail/5522www.smackdownvsraw.com/Looks like they're going apeshit with the new title, probably in a bid to keep the franchise, since the contract expires this year. I just hope that they give us back some of the control that they've taken over the last few years- if not, screw it.

Hey, as long as they bring back GM Mode, I'm completely fine with whatever else they throw in.

It's gonna suck, don't get your hopes up. They promise stuff every year and show case certain things every year and then the next year that throw the stuff from the previous right out the window and make something else shiny to appease the small minded people. Sorry if I sound like i'm being a prick about the game, but they lost any shred of getting the benefit of the doubt from me years ago now.

^---- This. I will say it sounds pretty on paper, but I place no hope or trust in it, as they say; Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

I'm on the fence, sitting pretty looking at the bright side of things. This is the last year on their license, and if they outdo themselves, and give the fans what they want, then it is possible, even if it's only slightly, they might get it renewed.

...and that's the only reason that I have any remote hope that it even might bring something decent to the table.
I'm hoping between the contract and the fact that this last year they had the public outcry about the caw stats that hopefully- hopefully- someone took a clue and they're going to fix it up and package it all nice and shiny to get that money back, because let's face it, SvR makes money every single year for THQ and if that's gone, that's millions out of their pockets.
Realistically, I think it's going to suck monkey balls. But I am VERY interested in seeing how this '3d paint' thing works- it would be nice to be able to actually make some detailed custom stuff.

I will probably get it, just like I do every year.... fingers crossed whats in there is in the full game. 3D custom painting sounds pretty cool, and creating your own stories could be interesting depending on how its done.... would also like to see the Create a Finisher mode improved, probably best thing to come out of last years game.

I have to say sadly i agree with the others on this one. I dont think the game or THQ have it in them to even make another good one again.
I mean...why do you think they're terminating the contract in the first place? Cause the games have failed time and time again year after year. Its not worth the money to fans anymore and its most definetly not even worth the production time or money for THQ to bother making the compiled shit they call SVR.
sorry, again with Angel on this one, they just destroyed any respect or hope I have for a good WWE game again.
I've actually placed my hopes into the UFC franchise hoping they work on their engine a little bit more and make it run smoother than that Undisputed piece of garbage they put out.

You make it seem like THQ has put out more than one Undisputed title, for the first one it was actually pretty decent for a first try, and i really only see them getting better with each one, unless EAs MMA just totally demolishes Undisputed. But iv enjoyed Undisputed more than the last few SVR titles. I think if the fix the career mode and make it more fun and not more of grind it could be good. And change some of the gameplay controls.

Not sayin' nothing (because everyone already knows my opinion), but if you have to grind through a game, by definition, that's not fun. And if a game isn't fun, it isn't a good game.
Fuck it, I will say it; I liked UFC for the Dreamcast infinitely more than I like Undisputed.

That would be true for a single player game, but the multiplayer part made up for it... it only sucked when you wanted to use your CAF online and you had to take them through career mode...adn career mode was bare bones and to much of a grind. But the game was still fun.... just stuff that could be fixed and tweaked for the next one.... like most games that have yearly titles. Im sure you have games that as a whole you like.. but you see little things that could be fixed or should be fixed for the next one...doesnt take away the enjoyment from said game tho. But you dont like hte game in general so the whole discussion is moot lol

Looking at that, it's looking good so far.... but then so did every other one for the past 4-5 years now lol I think creating your own storylines and show could be interesting, from a OCW point of view... could post up videos of interviews and promo's for PPVs

Yep... that's what I was thinking, as long as they aren't too wordy (apparently). Could make for some more interesting shows, that's for sure.
We'll have to see, but October 20th isn't that far away, which is cool.

Well they have a Word Limit on what you can put on, so looks like it won't be too long. Glad to hear robes actually move more real this time round, instead of magically stuck to your legs. A pinfall bar though doesn't sound all that great.... especially if it could be abused by the A.I.

Well if they DO pull this off, and get their contract renewed...
Expect them to try and top it, and ruin the whole thing as usual. ;D

Won't matter- if they get it right once, we have an engine for as long as we need it.
And Zero, dunno if you've played it, but in LoWM, the bar you have to fill up gets harder to fill up each time- it won't get abused.
I personally just hope they incorporate the Royal Rumble changes from LoWM into the game. I'm sure they will, but it'd have been nice to have had it confirmed off the bat.

Chups - I haven't played LoWM, but I guess if its done pretty good in that, should be fine in SVR10. I 've actually got my monthly games mag which talks about more in detail about the game, RtWM mode sounds rubbish again (though having created wrestlers having their own storyline sounds ok) but the online community stuff and WWE Story Designer (offical name) does sound very VERY promising. Basically, you have roughly 6-8 scenes you start of with, which then lead to numerous sub-categories which can lead from one thing to the next, with any wrestler (or non-wrestler listed) and created wrestler you can choose to be in these scenes. Apparently, you can have up to 500 scenes, though I'm not sure that means they all link to each other, could do.
EDIT: Forgot to mention CAW limit has been upped to 50.

Fucking SCORE. Thanks for the additional info, man. With 50 caws, if we can actually trade caws between profiles on the same 'box this time around, that'll effectively give us infinite caw space to deal with, but even if not, 50 is a great number to work with. We'll finally be able to actively recruit again, like in the old days. As long as with the story designer we can still have cpu vs. cpu matches, sounds like it could be one of the best things to happen in a while. But still, when the game comes out, I'm gonna test that bastard from one end to the other, and if anything seems out of sorts, we'll Committee it to death until it works for us. Sounds good so far. I'm really hoping it works out this year. I'm still sure they're going to lose the WWE license, and here's my thoughts on that, which I already shared with Wulfie last night: this year they're focusing on user-based content, which we already know that the WWE hates, with their past lame-ass attempts to create their own/shut down efeds. I think THQ is using this final WWE game as an advertisement to the efedding community, because they know what's up- I think (hope) that with this game, they're saying "hey, look what we've got for you, please stick with us even if next year's game is just a license-less generic fest, because we'll have you efedders covered, fuck WWE." Or something like that. I just know Vinnie Mac had a serious hate-on for efedding in general a few years ago, so unless he had a massive change of heart, he wouldn't be saying "hey, steer the game towards user-created content as much as you can, and while you're at it, make that the focus of the first teaser trailer." It just sounds like THQ finally listened to the fans and is delivering what we want instead of what WWE wants, so hey- that's cool.

Ok, I'm gonna try to extract more info on the WWE Story Designer so bear with me if I sound confused. It starts with a calander, not sure if you can choose which date to start off from though I'd imagine you can. Here, you select either to start a scene or book a match. By selecting a scene, you can choose from many options, but the so far confirmed ones are Attack, Cage, Car, Commentary, GM, Interview or Show Intro. Each of those have an entire sub-menu of choices, which enclude 29 pages of sounds to choose from, like theme music or crowd chants. You can also choose what emotion the characters will have and what camera angle you want the scene to be shot in. On the match side of things, you can choose what type of match it will be, who will be involved in the match, who the player gets to choose (not sure if you can have full cpu on cpu) the stipulations within the match, if their will be any interference, any Road to WrestleMania styled objectives during the match and even set any damage on any of the wrestlers involved in the match. You'll beable to create 10 storylines, each can contain up to 500 scenes in them. There are no limitations on which wrestler can be involved in these storylines, you can even have 2 of the same wrestler (evil twin storyline was exampled). Any created content can be uploaded online to share within the community and also downloaded from anyone. If, for say, Chupa downloaded Trish Extreme from me, he can also see what else I've made anduploaded on, so he could also take Zero or anyone else I've created, but I'm not entirely sure if storylines can also be uploaded and downloaded, though it does say ANY created content. Create a Wrestler has also been redeisnged so everything in there is 3D... from hair moving realisticly to dog tags and ties so now your CAWs look just as real as the wrestlers themselves. Create a Finisher is also in there, but now includes off the top rope finishers too. You can adjust the trajectory of your finisher to say leave your guy floating in mid air for a few seconds before crash landing on your opponent in OR outside of the ring. 10 slots are used like last year, but roughly only 8 will be used if your going for a high flying move. There is also the ability to change the COLOUR of the WWE wrestlers attire, but not anything else (probably only thing THQ will get away will lol) Offical name is Superstar Threads. Theres probably abit more in there that I can get, but that is the main slice of what this years Smackdown will contain.... IF everything that i've just said is true.... F'Ning can't wait for it

Storylines can be uploaded, that's detailed on the GameSpot page I linked to before. That's cool. Yep, long as they don't screw it up... and this is THQ, so while I'm hopeful, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Hmm.... some more info on the game at IGN.com, linky uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/101/1017296p1.htmlThough I just wanted to highlight a rather important change to the CAW system in terms of what your guy/chick will be allowed to have on them: "Rather than restrict you to a certain number of layers as in years past, SVR 2010 gives each item a point value and only allows you to use so many points (48 is what I saw when fooling with the mode) for your guy or gal" Now, this could either be really good or bad depending on quite alot of things, for instance does your guy wear alot or alittle, how much facepaint/tattoes does he have, what designs do they have etc.

50 Caws plus top rope custom finishers! I will be nagging this one too. I wish a game would come out just for us CAW makers. No licenses or any of that crap. Just make a great game, tons of CAW stuff & options, all wrapped up with awesome AI.
