Dunno what kind of schedule we're going to have yet, but I'm going to go ahead and float the idea of getting some simmers aside from myself.
As some characters may be turned in via formula as opposed to 360 online, and as some people may have issue with their characters being available online, there are but three minimum requirements for simming a show:
1 XBox 360[/color] (does NOT need online, though if later SvR2011 DLC contains new moves, will need the ability to snag that DLC)
1 XBox 360 hard drive transfer cable (can be picked up cheap on ebay and I think the hard drive transfer kit can be bought at Gamestop for $12)
1 XBox 360 hard drive
I CAN send complete OCW saves to simmers (and anyone else for that matter) IF the simmer has a hard drive transfer cable. I can write up a tutorial, no problems there. It requires some use of free tools that I can also provide, no problem.
That said, video capture is a plus, but not necessary. We haven't had video for every event in OCW history and I'm not going to start enforcing it now.
Anyone that wishes to apply may do so, but all applicants absolutely must have the 3 things above. Just don't be surprised if you're turned down; we need trustworthy simmers that we know can do the work, and if you're new and/or an unknown quantity or just a little too fixated with wins and losses, then we're not going to be knocking on your door. It's just logical.
Modded mp3s will also be provided for any simmer to utilize during simming at their discretion. Not really necessary for anyone that can't cap video, naturally.
Video cappers will naturally receive preference in their application.
Main point being that one of the main probs I had running OCW the last couple of years was that I was running a lot of it myself, and we have certain features that I'm not willing to let slide.
That said, we had a lot of dead weight on the Committee last year, and this year it's going to pretty much boil down to creative staff and people that are actually doing the work, with anyone that doesn't pull their weight taking a walk. It's always taken a Committee to run OCW for any length of time, and that isn't going to change as far as I can tell. That said, feel free to apply, but again, if you don't get hired, it's nothing personal.
We MIGHT be hiring for:
-creative team
-simmers
-rankings (must have Excel or OpenOffice, which is free, and know how to use them)
Creative team is responsible for the day-to-day creative ideas behind the fed. Although owners are responsible for their characters' individual storylines, OCW periodically has fed-wide storylines that characters can choose to participate in. The creative team will be responsible for brainstorming ideas for both these events and for spicing up individual stuff.
Simmers are responsible for the simming of shows. This doesn't have to include video capture/editing, but can if one feels the need. Must at least have decently strong writing skills, the ability to type pretty fast during a show, and some way to rewind a show (even a VCR is kosher) in case they miss some details.
Rankings are done weekly after each show. Anyone prepared to do this will have a tutorial provided and must be both familiar with spreadsheet software and with the philosophy behind said rankings. Must be meticulous and good with numbers. That said, I very much doubt I'll let it out of my grasp, but I could for the right person.
That's about it. Apply if you'd like, we'll see how things go! Thanks. Applications can be made right here in this thread OR via PM to myself.
