Got it, thanks man! Much appreciated!
Probably gonna be the only game I get to play on the PS3, considering that it just stopped reading Blurays. Fucking goddamn Sony-ass piece of shit.

got mine around the same time the MGS set was out. Mine's one of the last that had the ps2 back compatibility.
Shitload of PS3s have the same prob, but unlike Microsoft they won't take care of it. Fucking bastards. So now, if I ever wanna play my 3 or 4 games again- OR play the shows that I have burned to bluray, or for that matter, my actual bluray movies- I have to spend $90 to get the piece of shit repaired. Fucking Sony. Hate 'em so much right now.

Sorry, haven't had a chance, celebrating Christmas with my wife's family this weekend, so probably won't have a chance to do a whole lot until Tuesday-ish. I figure it can't be bad, heh.
Right now, I'm just trying to figure out my options on the PS3- I mean, it's one of the 80gb (I think) PS2-compatible bastards, but now it isn't reading any discs at all, so I'm thinking about trading in all the games I have and shit and trying to get a refurbished one- I wouldn't bother but I really need a bluray player that also plays HD video files, it's really fucked up our movie watching this weekend- but I dunno. Just feeling out my options, but I pretty much have to replace it somehow, just for the media stuff, unless I can find a bluray player that supports video files of all sorts, and I really don't think there are any.

Have you tried just usinig it as a media center to stream your movie files? ? And what about just sending it off to Sony to repaired? wouldnt that be the cheapest route?? I mean unless u are gonna trade it in some where OTHER than Gamestop, doubt youll get much from them.

Can't stream HD movie files wirelessly. Or I can, but they stutter like a virgin on prom night. Sending it to Sony will end up costing a grand total of $150 + shipping; I could probably trade in the system and games I have and get relatively close to a new system- isn't like I play the games I have on it anyway. And I did the same thing back when the hard drive in my original XBox crapped out, traded in the system and paid like $70 and got a new system- I'm not saying this is definitely how it would work out this time, but I'd rather explore this option and maybe end up with a refurbished console than ship the whole mess to Sony and pay them 75% of what a new system costs for them to fix it.
Seriously tho, after this, fuck Sony- I mean, the 360 has probs, Microsoft mans up and takes care of them for free to the tune of millions of dollars. Sony has a problem that affects at LEAST 10% of all non-slim PS3s, they cover it up and make you pay $50 just to send the fucker in, then another $100 + shipping to fix the motherfucker. Fuck Sony, fuck Sony hardcore.

Well, here's the thing. Seems like a good enough game, I guess. My PS3 is playing it, but without any sound. I got out of the Brainiac ship and into the bar and had to stop there, because it's driving me fucking nuts. For those interested (or even if you aren't), I haven't played any MMORPGs in any real extent, but here's how it rolls at the beginning: Pick one of two sexes, then one of three body types- kid, medium and big-ass muscle dude. (Think smaller Hulk.) Also pick hero or villain, and then your "mentor"- Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, the Joker, or Circe. (Who the fuck?) You get to choose from a pretty good selection of skins and hairs for your character, but that's where the initial physical customization ends. You get to basically pick a movement power, a melee power and a combat power. (For instance, I picked a big Hulkish villainous cyborg with mohawk and a goatee, then gave him superspeed, melee dual wielding and fire-based powers.) Then you get dropped into a Brainiac harvester ship and have to escape. This is faciliated by your info expert (Calculator for villains, I'm assuming Oracle for heroes), who tells you what to do and where to go. You engage in a bunch of combat and basically hit level 3 before you duck out, which lets you upgrade some of your initial powers. I got a dashing projectile blocking attack for the speed and immolation- setting yourself on fire to cause surrounding damage to enemies and bonus melee damage. Could've had a fireball though. As you go, you collect outfit bits which you can equip later, and the bar you end up at after escaping has a couple of vendors so you can sell unwanted bits and buy new equipment. My only real gripe is not even being able to pick my character's outfits' colors so far; I started in a blue jumpsuit, and even after adding armor and shit, I'm basically still in a blue jumpsuit with armor slapped on it. Combat is your basic 3D brawling stuff- 2 buttons for melee attacks, L2 + buttons for powers (like immolation), click the left stick to toggle your movement power on/off. (Super speed lets you climb walls!!!) So at this point, it's basically been just a melee fest for me, but not a horrible one. Graphics are pretty fucking good. I can't see anything to complain about so far. Character models are detailed to the point that you shouldn't have anything to gripe about, and working with artist Jim Lee has created some really nice takes on the classic characters you run into, like Lex Luthor and his power suit and Two-Face, who hangs at the bar. Overall I don't really know how this stacks up against other MMORPGs, but it's pretty fun. I can definitely see myself snagging this and playing it for at least a few months, though I'd probably have to make a new character- Big Happy Robot Guy is fun to play, but a part of me wants to make a Chupster and go hammer people. Yes, there ARE huge hammers. HAPPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Did you change the colors when you were creating your guy?? there is a color wheel where yo u can change the colors of ur outfit/skin it took me a while to figure it out and get the hang of it....i had a made a villain first...but the name was taken so i made a Hero.
Im enjoying it so far... its buggy as hell but they have released a few patches but it still freezes from time to time. I tried playing today and it frozed TWICE, yesterday i couldnt get on, i guess cuz of the patch they released today. So far im diggin it...... im HOPING they come out with some bundle kind of pay scheme where you can buy months at a time.. .cuz i wouldnt mind paying.. just not a monthly deal.... play a few months and move on..then come back later when they added some new stuff n updates etc.
What server are you playing on??? PVP or PVE? I went to PVP.... running in to other players who are villains is pretty cool so far....i can see how this COULD be abused .... .ppl camping out at the noob sites just to smack em around etc. And they even have a quest some where around Metropolis where you search out other players who are villains and bring em in.....course they have to be your level or above.
I also like how when you finish a quest to completion.......like for me i had to go after Scarecrow.. it was a few quest before i actually got to fight the scarecrow and when i did it was a mini comic book style movie showing him being captured and sent back to arkham which was pretty cool.
I can see it getting better with time and if they squash the bugs out as they pop up and it gets a ton of support, hopefully it doesnt crash and burn the first few months out. Its cool finally having a MMO on a console iv been wanting one for a while now that i could actually play haha.

Didn't know you could change colors when creating him. I didn't see the option anywhere, but I'll keep an eye out this next time.
Got a replacement PS3 from Gamestop, cost me $140 and now I have a 40gb instead of 80gb, but they had a special where you got a lil extra for trading in a console AND if you bought a used one you got a free 1 year warranty, which was the big kicker. Sending it in to Sony for repairs would've been $150, I wouldn't have had it for God knows how long, probably wouldn't have gotten the same system back anyway, and their repairs only have a 3 month warranty.
Dunno if this one is backwards compatible, but since it's a 40gb, I'm thinking it might be- gonna test after the update downloads. Now I just have to download the 15gb fucking beta again. You know, for the third fucking time. :X

I dont think the 40s had backwards capabilities i think that was the one that caused the big stink....but you will soon find out! haha and its cool you was able to get one.
For the colors i think its when your scrolling through there will be an option for Colors, and when you go in there youll have the body and outfit sections then sub sections...............it was a BIT confusing took me a while to get the hang of it.

Yeah, no backwards compatibility, even though it has the 'ps/ps2 internal memory card' shit. That just doesn't make any sense at ALL. But I figure if my son wants to play SoulCalibur 3, Godzilla: Save the Earth and War of the Monsters enough, he can shell out $50 for a used PS2. He's got the cash; he hoards every cent he gets and only spends it when he has enough to buy either something big or a lot of stuff- weird, weird shit for a 7-year old.
Anyway, I guess I'll be getting back into it sometime tomorrow, considering the download. Grrrr.

US Pricing and Game Play Subscription Packages: Suggested retail pricing: USD $49.99(PC) and USD $59.99 (PS3) 1 Month - $14.99 3 Month - $41.99 6 Month - $77.99 12 Month - $143.99 Lifetime Subscription - $199.99 (Available on PC only)
This is the pricing scheme for it, im thinking about going 6 months on 6 months off... play for 6 months straight.. then take a break.. then come back on.. i figure by that time.. it will have a nice chunk of updates/packs/fun stuff to do and i wont have to get wrapped up in the whole monthly deal.....czu so far im diggin it and im curious to see where this goes.........hopefully the console people support it. Or.. the pc ppl support it enough where the console version can go Free 2 play lol.. hey... one can dream right??

Eh, after installing it three times and playing through the first couple of missions, I just don't think it's really for me. I just got bored halfway through the first real mission and decided to kill it- I mean, honestly, I'd be more attracted to this game if it were a single player/limited multiplayer release, I don't really want to play in a world crammed full of actual people. Least I don't think I do. I'm gonna give it one more good shot somewhere in the next week, and if it doesn't do anything for me I'll just go ahead and uninstall it.
I would really like a good superhero game with some multiplayer, but on this large a scale- and with the first couple of missions consisting of "find enemies and attack attack attack"- it's just not ending up as the kind of game I wanna play very much. Ah well. LOL
