Okay peeps, here's the skinny on our last show.
OCW's final show is going to basically be- as I described it to Wulf- the Woodstock of OCW wrestling. 3 days of OCW beatdowns, surprises, just all kinds of fun. There won't be many gimmick matches, and we WILL be doing something we've never done before!
Each and every title match on the card (for the first 2 days) will be a Chance at Immortality: a chance to become the greatest champions OCW has ever had.
OCW has always rated its champions by their longest number of consecutive defenses. During days 1 and 2, each champion will defend their titles. If they successfully defend those titles, they will then go on to meet a new opponent until they lose those titles. (However, after the end of the final show, once all championship records are recreated, there will be separate notations for Greatest Champion [overall # of defenses] and Greatest Champion [# of consecutive defenses], something I was working on before all this.)
So basically, each day, there WILL be new champions- and there will be the potential for the current champion to defend as many times in a row as he can.
However, if the current champions lose- the champions that are the champion at the beginning of the day- to their first opponent, that new champion will get the chance to do the same. This only extends to the first opponent, and guarantees at least 2 title defenses each day.
The method of choosing which opponents face which champions after the first challengers is being worked on. It WILL be at least partially rankings-based.
Day 2's card will thus be very dependent on the results from day 1, so only the first day's card will be posted. Ditto for day 3.
Additionally, during day 2, each General Manager gets to set the title shot of their choice. This means that on day 2, there could potentially be 4 separate title defenses for the same title!
Of course, all of this will have full video and commentary. That said, please be patient. I have some work to do on the saves before I even start simming it, and believe me when I say that no matter what, this WILL be a pretty damned long event.
I will very likely sim everything all at once, and then edit together one day at a time so I can upload each day as it's finished. That said, there is NO DEFINITE TIMELINE for this show- it's going to be huge and I'd like to make our final hurrah worth the price of admission.
And believe me when I say that the OCW legacy will be tied up in a fun, neat little bow. I'm not ruling out possible one-shot shows down the line- FAR, FAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRR down the line- but after this, I doubt they'll be happening often.
Okay fellas, that's the skinny. The card for day 1 will be finalized and posted soon. Good luck to everyone!
