Hey folks!
Now that things are shaping up and we're definitely rolling toward a restart, a lot of little questions are popping up, at least in my noggin. So here's (potentially) a big one.
In the past, we often had consequences for in-game backstage attacks. You could, for example, private message the event simmer and tell them that you wanted your character [name] to attack [other character's name] in the [backstage area]. Granted this year, we only have 1 backstage area, but at least we have that, I guess.
Anyway, as kind of a "price", we had consequence tables. These were simple tables where the simmer could roll some dice and there would be an outcome of some sort, like 2-4, your character is suspended from the rest of the show and the opponent was injured and couldn't wrestle for the remainder of the event, or 5-7, your character gets away with it and the opponent is injured and can't wrestle at the next event- stuff like that.
My question is, should we do something like this again?
I'm kind of reluctant to at this point, simply because we don't know what kind of schedule I'm going to be able to regularly do. I mean I can pretty much guarantee at least one event per month, but anything past that is anyone's guess. One week I might do 3 events, the next week I might do none. We might have 9 events in one month and nothing for a few weeks. I just don't know at this point.
And that said, personally, I'm leaning toward having no consequence tables, at least at first. Let's say hypothetically that you have one wrestler in the fed, and then he's attacked and injured and can't wrestle for 1 event. Then we only have 1 event in the next month. That's basically putting you out of the fed for a month, and I don't wanna do that to anyone.
I dunno, the funny thing is, I started this off thinking "hey, we should do consequence tables again, that was kind'a fun and added some risk to the game!" and now I managed to talk myself out of it. Anywho, voice them opinions, peoples!
