This is something I've gotten kind of interested in anymore: what was the inspiration that led to the creation of certain wrestlers? I know for most people the wrestlers are based off of themselves, but I want to know where someone like The Chupacabra came from. Hahah. Me personally the first two CAWs I seriously sat down and worked on were both Krimzon and Rugaku whom I made for my first run in OCW, and they were purely creations of experimentation. I think my original idea for Krimzon was he was supposed to be this hardcore heel brawler, almost in the vein of Randy Orton, but he wound up being part of the J.O.B. Squad. Rugaku was I just wanted a big kind of giant guy and for whatever reason I decided to make him Japanese.

Bandit of course was myself but Jimmy T was a Triple H clone basically. He was supposed to be Bandits brother in law storywise.
My friends guys Kain, R-Pac, DiScO RiCk and Punk Rock Tony are a different story.
R-Pac and Disco were nworich`s guys. R-Pac were based off nworich's personalities so to speak. He liked Kurt Angle and we always smacktalked and picked on him about it so he made him as payback so the #1 this and #1 that was all Angle mixed with his own spin.
Disco was created with the sole purpose as a tag partner for Punk Rock Tony. Disco was a John Travolta Saturday night fever meets Disco Inferno meets Cheech n Chong.
PRT and Kain were adidaskain's crew. Kain was based on himself crossed with Kane who was his favorite wrestler. Kain was a badass.
PRT was made along with Disco just because they had this crazy idea for a tag team and the personalities were mad to be opposite each other hence the Disco and Punk Rock attitudes mixed with the Cheech n Chong mentality the Doobie Bros were born. In my opinion some of the Doobie Bros promos were pure genius when they really got in character. I think more than half the locker room fired one up in their promos at one time or the other.
I remember their heel turn which was purely by accident and not intended. It was in response to one of Matt Manning's promos that ended with his son Tyler getting an ice cream from an ice cream truck. Well nworich in true Disco stoner fashion had the munchies and he ran up and knocked the kid down and took his ice cream because it was the last one and he had the munchies...lol Everyone hated on them for that so they just ran with it.

LOL, good times! Yeah, never did get the epic Green Machine/Doobie Bros rivalry I was hoping for. Lotta weed smoked in those promos though. (And writing them. LOL)
Eh, Jesus, I've had so many damn characters, it's just a mess. I actually had a website at some point in the earlier days with pages for each wrestler and long, drawn out reasons I made them and their histories and blah blah whatever. Pretty much all of my characters were meant to be OCW wrestlers though, except for the comic book characters I did. Just gonna hit on the major ones though. Let's see...
The Chupacabra - started off as "The Tomcat" in a fantasy wrestling eFed ran on WWE WrestleMania 2000 (and then No Mercy) where we had characters for everyone that worked at the TV station. I left tapes of events there and spread around newsletters. It was crazy- everyone really seemed to dig it. Anyway, back then it was just D-Generation X-style me. When the WWE games got decent enough CAW-wise, I remade myself as what I would wanna be, with moves that I figure I could do (at a lil bit of a stretch), with the backstory that I was a masked orphan that lived in some swamp and had a life partner that was a male goat named Juan. So, so many storylines involved that damned goat. Still proud to have a custom action figure of the duo.
Minion - I really wanted to have a stable made of monster-type wrestlers that would later become Legion. Of course, the game only had so many decent parts to work with. Minion started off as a massive giant with armor and horns. Before long, Minion's partners were toast, and I revamped the character as a massively-tattooed, long-haired, no-nose havin' massive bastard. Now he looks the same minus most of the tats, and has more of a biker-style mentality. If I ever sit down and write the sprawling dumbass fantasy epic I would love to if I didn't hate my own writing, he has a major part in that where the whole shebang crosses back over into the real world and turns into a huge mess.
"The Main Event" Adam Riley - I wanted someone where I could cut promos like the Rock. I made a guy with blue & black hair, a shitty tribal sleeve thing and a modified Rock moveset. Unfortunately, he never could win for shit. I still loved promoing for him though. And his street fightin' twin brother, Scott.
Bloodraven - At one point, I was obsessed with the comic (and movie) The Crow, and right about the time they did the sequel, I wrote like a 9-page or so outline that I had planned on turning into a script that was basically a pro wrestling version of the Crow. In the game, his entrance name was The Crow: Bloodraven. Looking back, it was a pretty bland idea, but it pulled in Legion and Rick Slade and was kind of neat to think about.
Bobo the Gorilla & Jojo the Smiling Monkey Ref - who doesn't love wrestling primates?
The Sinner Twins & Midnight Blue - also from the sprawling fantasy epic thing. Twin brothers that are evil dicks, with a leader chick. I had a dream with these three in it, though I had to mod dream Blue a lot to get her into the game- she looked a lot more Road Warrior in the dream. Anyway, they were chasing me in the dream and laid waste to a town, and it was just twisted.
Gonna leave it there, cuz lord, there's just so many. And so many are just silliness. Like Johnny Super = a disabled kid in an iron man-style mech suit in a trenchcoat. Mokele Mbembe = Kamala the Ugandan Giant + Rikiski. Etc. etc. etc. lol

Here’s a little backstory on my CAWs James “Teabag” Douglas: He worked in a convenience store as a cashier who loved wrestling. One night a drunken Stone Cold Steve Austin came in & tried to beat him up because they didn’t carry Austin’s’ favorite beer. James hated his minimum wage job & took out his frustrations on the drunken Austin by beating the hell outta him. The assault ended with James dropping his junk right on the nose of SCSA. Teabag was born! The next day he enrolled in Mr.Fugi’s wrestling school in Knoxville TN & the rest is history. “The Hiroshima Kamakaze” Tetsuo: Not much of a story for him. I wanted a Japanese style wrestler & always loved the look of The Great Muta. He was my first attempt at a submission wrestler. Mukiluck: I needed a superheavyweight wrestler that could compete with Minion & Damien Callous. I had the idea to make him a submission wrestler & use two Ankle-focused finishers. (If I had it to do over I don’t think I would have submitted him to the OCW during the HCTP game. That year wasn’t much fun. ). Little known fact; I based him off Vincent Di’Onofrio from the movie “The Cell”. Pic of him below \/ Chance Ramsey: More of a MMA-style wrestler. He was big & punched a lot. I always meant for Chance to start as a fresh-faced OCW rookie who became something more. Firebrand: A sad attempt at a high flyer. I dropped him after a promo where he ended up being like Beavis. Fire Fire Fire! Candy: A female wrestler & my attempt at getting my wife into the OCW. She wasn’t interested. Nate Strong: He was supposed to be Chance Ramsey’s tag partner. Kind of like The Twin Towers. Attachments:

Well, why not join the fun. I'll keep it mostly OCW related, let's see;
Werwulf - obviously based heavily on myself, though most of his back story/wrestling life is fabricated. My first character ever created, back on the old shitty nes wrestling games, he went through three other versions before Werwulf was born; Rigga 'the Digger' Mortis (aka the Grave Digger), an Undertaker like clone who was way too tall and honestly, boring as hell (I was still delusional at this time that I could be taller...where the extra two feet would come from, who the fuck knew...). I brought him down to my size and went through a more experimental phase of Lunar Eclipse and White Tiger, both masked luchadores who never were seen outside my own games. Short cruiserweights who were all about high flying, these personas really brought about how fun it was to have a guy that was more me, as far as size and attitude. The name Werwulf, or shortly Werewolf, had been toyed with and attached off and on, but it finally stuck, and eventually I found my way to Gamefaqs where this weird guy was looking for guys to start his fed...
Manticore - again, heavily based on a real person, my then parter, now husband, Mikey. At first he was more a manager/side character to the Coffin Puppets (Wulf and Drag), but quickly shot up to being the co-lead of the cTn and eventually half of the new Coffin Puppets. Despite how it looks, Wulf is much more a follower of Core than vice versa. Core is similar to Mikey personality-wise in a lot of ways, with a little bit of my own twist added in. And yes, the whorish nature of Core and Wulf is true to real life... we have the evidence to back it up!
*Editors note, though whores, there has never been a true case of bestiality involving either Wulf or Core... No matter what Juan claims!*
Dragune - Created by a friend of mine growing up as a tag partner for Werwulf, the real life Drag helped form the favoritism I hold toward tag teams...No, not like that, really!! Though we drifted apart over time, Drag still holds a place in the lore of the cTn. Drag is a straight up hardcore brawler who is always ready to fight, and like Wulf and Core, was based on the personality and looks of the friend.
Monn 'Joogra - Originally a severely overweight, pigment saturated bastard in a loin cloth thong, who eventually turned his life around and got buff and more clothed. More of an experiment on how silly of a monster I could make that turned into a much beloved monster and core member of the cTn. Haitian and heavily accented as such, though I think his accent tends to slide on the offensive some times, though it truly isn't meant to..
...I do miss the chunky version and his loin thong though...
Tiffany Slyvinia - Originally an experiment on a female version of Wulf that quickly evolved into her own character and into OCW, and was my only female character to ever grace a fed... Dress wearing Wulf (Damn you Sylas) and pretend-to-be-a-girl Wulf (not this fed, Shandy's... weird but fun story...) not couting.... She was fun and I had lofty plans, but at the time she was out, I was balancing a lot of guys, so, not much really panned out for her.
Jason Bernetolli - A Chris Wallace rip-off that was used for Wulf and the cTn's personal gain, until the real Wallace returned, at which point he switched up to become muscle for the cTn as 'the Hitman', like a mafia hitman...why did I think that was a good fit, fuck. Similar to Tiffany, I just didn't get to play him off like I had hoped.
Jayden Malicious - Not to be confused with Jayden Falcone, Jayden Malicious was seen in a couple of other feds as a part of JC and Mikey's relationship, a mutual partner in and out of the ring, he was a short Asian character, whose style was a high flying cruiserweight.
Now to the short lived or easily forgotten;
Bysin - Wulf's supposed twin brother, what I thought at the time would be a great twist for story puposes, and for filler in the cTn. Character never truly developed due to my attachment to Wulf and Drag at the time, so eventually was replaced. Popped up a few times for story purposes after a short lived career.
Spyder - Experimental biker guy that was mainly filler for the cTn in OCW's infancy, similar to Bysin. Killed off after leaving OCW I think...
Dyborg - Other than Wulf and Drag, my first two guys to enter OCW, Dyborg was my 3rd or 4th. Silly experiment at a half man half robot that quickly died out in OCW's first weeks.
Gorilla - The match to 3rd or 4th place in my history...like..What can I say, he was a gorilla from the zoo, I don't know what the fuck I was thinking....shit...also quickly dropped.
_____
Shout outs -cause I'm a wordy bastard- to the alter egos of Wulf and Core:
Rad Gnarley (Wulf) and 'the Human Bulldozer' aka Dozer, the tag team of Surf 'N Turf!! Wulf and Core went incognito to try their luck in another fed, if you can call incognito as Wulf taking off his make-up and smiling, while Core put a brown Cobra Commander hood on... Ok, a little more than that, but really, no major changes aside from outfits. What made this so hilarious, at least to me, was the fact they had originally debuted in the fed as the Boyz Malicious, JC and Mikey. After a decent run, they left like assholes, took a lengthy vacation, then turned around and came back as Surf 'N Turf, and legit, as in IRL, no one realized it was them! They did well, earning the tag straps in the process, before eventually revealing themselves to the surprise and shock of many... or disappointment, depending on who you talked to...
Konstantine (Wulf) and Giovanni (Core) Burgaceno - Mafia-esque versions for the fun/silliness of it. Black suits, ties, Giovanni was the 'Don', Konstantine his right hand. Short lived in another fed that dissolved from disinterest, but dammit, I love a good suit...Ya, that was the bulk of it, I needed a good excuse for the suits. Although good might not be the best word here...

Oh god, inspirations for my characters, well I'll try to tell what inspired me for my two characters. Matty Ace: Also originally known as Zero, Matty is, for the most part, a mirror of myself, minus the good looks and very colourful hair haha. I think I took the "hey ho good guy, can't do no wrong" attitude from myself (I always play as the nice guy in all RPG games ) and I wanted to mix that with something else, something that I could really latch onto. And when I did start my E-fed career, as you would say, I took a good number of traits from Randy Orton (at the time he was into the whole Legend Killer/Destiny thing) which I thought would be really cool to add into my personality to create a character, who to start off with would be huge into "destiny foretold I would whip your ass". I think overall I've been in 4 efeds with Zero, always changing little things with him, being what... something like 14-15 when I started? Yea, basically a Randy Orton rip off Ashley Ace: As boring as it probably sounds, Ashley (Trish Extreme) started as just a female version of myself, but with mixtures of (no surprise) Trish Stratus in there, and just a lil Lita with the whole rock/emo look. I made Trish back when I was joining MAWL, if anyone remembers that place (I believe Werwulf would, he was the one who pulled me over to OCW), and from there, I wanted to make a brother/sister tag team with Zero as well, which I don't think had much success there, but had far better luck here. Funnily, I joined MAWL first with Trish for around a few months before I brought Zero into it. I think the best fued I had over there with Trish was against Angel of all people, we had a match once very early into Trish being in MAWL where if she lost, she had to wrestle in a bikini for a whole month... guess who won that match then xD (and no, the beret will never go away lol)

I just realized that Teabag added a picture as an attachment. Holy shit, I didn't know we could do that.
Loving this thread, but just realized that- well, I dunno if we need another thread for it or what, but I just wonder like, how many feds has everyone been in?
I might have to start that thread, I don't wanna hijack this one, just really cool reading everyone's stuff!

Time for me to weigh in a bit on this. I should probably be in bed now, but what the hell, I'm using paid time off right now.
For the sake of brevity and everybody's sanity, I'm going to forego rattling off the entire list of the somewhere around 80-90 CAW's I've made over the years and focus on just the ones that you guys are probably at least sorta familiar with.
First, and probably one of the least interesting I'm going to note, is Lucas Reinhardt from 2011. I'd made him for the first time on the 2009 game, and decided to do so solely after learning how to use CodeBreaker on the PS2 version of the game and discovering there were actually 8 available ability slots for each wrestler in the game. Why they limited it to 6 in the final release I have no idea, but I whipped up Reinhardt with the intention of having those 2 extra abilities. He was originally meant to be a pseudo-1998-Chris-Jericho type of character, but very quickly ended up being this sort of hyped up, goofy, bouncy, fun-loving putz.
Then there's good ol' Yugo Ryan. Yugo wasn't born as a CAW, he was actually first used as how I decided to represent myself in some writing projects I did at the time (when I was, like, 13). The original Yugo, in the original material, didn't do much. He was a background character at best, part of the scenery at worst. And then later I did some other stuff, and recycled the character. This time as a full-blown antagonist. He ended up being an almost unkillable vessel for an evil deity in the world (I was 15 at this point, shut up). Seriously, I "killed" him and brought him back like 3 times before that project died off. Then, I started my CAW own show, MWL. I recycled Yugo again, this time as an absurd egomaniac with the resources and brilliance to back it all up. That kind of gimmick worked out great in MWL and AWF where I was either in charge or on staff, since he was always meant as that one bastard that management could never do a damn thing about. Didn't pan out so well here though, but I still enjoyed Yugo's run. The fact that he debuted by taking out Riley, and then his last match with OCW had him being pinned by Riles, just wrapped things up perfectly, I feel.
Now, Lino. You remember Lino? No? Big dude that followed Yugo around and played the foil to him in promos? Still no? Bah. Short-hand, deceptively agile big brawler dude with an insatiable appetite for all things edible.
...And now, the two I'm sure you're actually interested in. Well, fun fact, I made Riley and Kim specifically for when I applied to OCW, and at the time I made them, it was ALL just throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what stuck. At the start, there was the trash-talking jokester Riley (and a few weeks later, Kim to play the foil). Then, a couple months later, there was the hardcore Riley. A couple months after that, I THINK I was starting to build a sort of multiple personality disorder thing with him that fell through immediately. Then the Moonlight Army happened. And then it died. And then began the one that seemed to really stick: concussion Riley (thanks a lot Scott Riley, ya little bastard). I think I'd played with that idea a few times before, but that was when it got to be iconic for Riles. Riley kinda got back to the trash-talking jokester when he won the belt in the '11 season, but since the fed didn't go more than a couple months that time, well, we didn't get much beyond that. Although, reading back through promos from that season, I'd totally forgotten how just about everyone congratulated Riley, even if sarcastically.
Through all of this, of course, Kim was forced to try and keep Riley from causing too much trouble as he keeps trying to revive the Moonlight Army. Which he will do yet again. And compete in the tag division by himself if he has to.
Also, for giggles, even though there's no actual CAW for her, Veronica Taylor is just a straight-up, wholesale knockoff of a character. Not gonna tell you what character, you'll just have to figure it out.

CK One, the original, created for OCW was based on a few things, an evolution of a character i had in smackdown hctp, body and size of the Ultimate Warrior but a semi Rock ripoff!! I enjoyed his first imcarnation as 'perfume boy' then he evolved through the i'll fated 'Fallen One' back to a more extrovert CK One, all girls, cars and tattoos! His looks based on Chris Akerman's portrayal of Tattoo in the Elektra movie
He evolved further as the tattooed over the top lady killer in another fed. Going by the name of CK Malicious brother to JC 'Werewulf' Malicious and 'Mikey 'Manticore' Malicious, actually this was my favourite time of writing him because his character was simple but fun to write and had a family legacy to uphold (thanks Wulf). This incarnation has been a stable build in all games until now.
My love for old school wrestlers who are talented workers. Mr Perfect, Bret Hart etc and of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Pumping Iron has brought CK to his current incarnation. He still has a similar personality although looks very different, originally this was to be a totally different character. Alfie Knight an East London boy has morphed and merged into the new look CK. I hope he's as fun to write as the old one or Lamborghinis, cornrows and groupies might be returning to OCW very soon hahaha
PS glad to be back!! I missed you all

Inspiration for mine was Leo Kruger from NXT (better known? as Adam Rose on WWE). Also pre-Crow Sting. Also maybe a little bit of WCW's Cobra, some WWE's Skinner, and voila: CryptoZoo Mauler cocktail.

Well, like others here, Jim Stackhouse is facially based off of me when I first made him back in '05 for my first run in ocw. I fell in love with mma when my dad brought home a VHS copy of UFC 2, yes 2, lol. I wanted stackhouse to be submission based, shoot fighter, tough guy who would just walk in, fuck people up, and walk out. Overall it was a decent experiment. He's gone through small changes here and there but looks almost the same as the '05 model. Soulless originally started as just a silly vampire gimmick that I created to enter an online, simmed tourney pre-ocw. He was the first of my guys to ever be seen online. I've created various versions of him since then, eliminated the vampire angle, and now stick with a other-side-of-Darkness type. It was this version that first entered ocw but then I soon found need for a tag partner. It was then I created... Wargoth, a lumbering, mute brute created with the goal of just being Soulless's tag partner/guard. His looks have changed very little in all incarnations with this year being the first I've ever actually put facial hair on him. His name I came up because I listened to the band Morgoth and this caw was built purely for waging war, thus Wargoth, lol. Another caw I had in ocw way back when was Feng Sun Leroy. Based entirely on the bad guy from the movie The Last Dragon. Can't for the life of me remember that characters name, lol. I just remember the catch-phrase "sho'nuff!" I think that's about it for ocw guys. Won't even get into all the non-ocw guys I've created since wcw vs nwo and the even better wrestlemania 2000 and no mercy, I miss those games

Going into creation, I had kind of envisioned Adam Cole. I didnt really get that look a whole lot I don't think, but I was happy with the outcome. The gimmick was based around Marty Scurll, in the sense that the heel aspect is so overblown that the crowd could get behind. I've been thinking of some sort of prop he could have that would get over similar to Scurlls umbrella, and going forward I see the puffy jacket being a mainstay as long as it remains in the game.
If I ever introduce a new character, I'll post back here again
