Heya folks,
Just a couple of notes on some stuff going forward.
As stated before, I've been working with some folks who don't have the game (or don't have one of the current gen versions) to get their characters created for the fed. While I will still be doing this going forward, I have been working on creating as many resources as possible for folks so they can get as much of their character done as possible, so I'm freed up to concentrate on whatever is left.
The Rules & Regulations section (top of the forums) has a Quick Start Guide, which in turn links to the Wrestler Guidelines thread, which explains a lot of what we need for wrestlers in the game, which in turn has links to a resources thread that explains some about Abilities, Attributes and Personality.
Also in the R&R section (and this will be linked to from the threads mentioned above in the coming days) is a template for the moveset that I typed up. Copy and paste, pop in the CAW Arena, boom.
Now, I know what you're saying. But Chups, you're sayin', how can I make a moveset when I don't know what moves are available?
A-HA!
In the coming days, I will be uploading a massive video that goes through every move in the game, in moveset order. Every standing grapple. Every corner move. Everything. It starts at the top of the in-game moveset and goes through each move, giving you a preview of what the move looks like, the details on the move (move type, position, body part targeted- everything you see on the moveset screen), everything.
I understand that it will be a pain in the ass for folks to watch what will probably end up being a 5-hour video, but the moves are shown in alphabetical order, so if you think you know what a move would be called, it's easy to jump around. Additionally there will be time markers in the description that will denote where, for instance, Standing Grapples begin, or Specials, or whatever.
Hopefully this will serve multiple purposes. The owners will get the movesets that they want, I won't have to try to interpret movesets for folks going forward, because folks- not to be that guy, but as everyone who has the game knows, there are a TON of moves you have to pick. (Check the template if you don't believe me- it's easily at least 5 times as many as we had to back in, say, 2009.) That takes a ton of time, and while I'm willing to work with folks to get their characters in the game- I want everyone who possibly can to enjoy a good, solid OCW experience- doing movesets eats up a shit ton of my time, and isn't particularly enjoyable.
And again, it frees me up to do the rest. Collaborate on the character's look, entrance, victory animation settings, all of that other jazz.
So effective immediately, I'm holding off on doing any further wrestler work that involves movesets until I get this video out. (This doesn't include folks I've already finished or that I'm currently in the process of doing.) I had hoped to have it done and up this weekend, but it ended up being considerably longer than I expected, and then there's editing and downsampling, then uploading, etc. etc. etc. Hopefully I'll have it out by the middle of the week, which should leave a few days to help any stragglers before we hit Backwoods Asskickin'. (IF my ban comes off when it's supposed to, grrrrrrrr...)
For folks with the XBox 360/PS3 version, that one is still based on 2k14 (I think that's the one), so I have no idea what the difference is in movesets. I don't know if you have the same moves available or what- all I can say is, the template in the R&R section is what we need to get you going. If it doesn't match what's in the game (and I'm sure it doesn't, that would be too easy, THANKS AGAIN TEAM 2K!), you're probably best off waiting for the video.
Thanks to everyone for your patience! Hopefully we'll have that first show up and rolling soon.
