Hey folks!
Got into a convo in the Mod section and realized that I probably should'a just posted the whole goddamn thing here. A-DUH. lol.
So in my time away from the OCDub, I started a band. We were together about a year and a half, I think. Got it together because I just missed (and still miss) playing music, and I figured the best, easiest way to do things is start as a cover band, play for a while, then start worrying about writing originals.
That worked for a bit, though we couldn't get a gig to save our lives. We distributed demos, mingled with bar owners and entertainment guys, couldn't get shit. Which is kind'a sad, but anyway.
Had a few falling outs with the lead singer, then the guys decided they only wanted to write original music, and while I love what we did and like writing originals, I didn't wanna sit in someone's converted garage writing songs no one was ever going to hear. So I quit, and shortly after that the band fell apart.
Anywho! lol.
Our reverbnation is still up, here's a few of our originals. There used to be a cover of STP's Crackerman too, but I guess someone took it down. We had 9 originals written, though didn't have actual drums recorded for all of 'em, and we didn't know much about mastering and all that, but I was writing mainly from home so the rest have digital midi drums. Looks like they took down the main page's art though, probably because the lead singer was a paranoid control freak and a picture of his daughter was used in the art. lol

I kind of doubled as our art director type, photoshopping whatever we needed. This was our promotional art for like, everything. The girl is the lead singer's daughter, the rest was all cobbled together from online stuff. Logo was a font found online that had some vector probs, so I fixed 'em and we used that.
We were going to get a sticker made of this with the band logo. Actually did this before the band existed- one day I woke up and my eyeball was swollen and a little yellowish. Took a pic, and then decided later to play with it in Photoshop.
We only got a couple of gigs- one at our apartment complex (which had a surprisingly awesome turnout), and one at a bar where everyone just kind of politely ignored us, except for the folks we brought with us. Still, fun times Oh, and an acoustic set we did at the lead singer's house, which was kind'a cool, but at that point the wig assembly for the Chupa mask wasn't done, so I just wore the mask as it was, and naturally his neighbor (who does professional photography) wanted to get some pics. lol
Oh, and there was the goofy shit I did that I used as my Facebook cover for a while.
So yeah, I played in the mask, which was hot as a bitch because it's rock solid (made with Apoxie Sculpt), and the "hair" retained heat like a bitch (made from dyed, unraveled nylon rope). Worth it though, because it looks awesome and the hair just flies everywhere.
Anywho, once we get moved back into civilization sometime around the beginning of June, I'll hopefully be able to get something going again. Nothing like having the ability and itch to play, and nowhere to do it. lol
